
POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Cook will primarily be responsible to prepare all food orders for the Dakota Diner, assisting with menu preparation and food supply orders. Will report to and work under the Operations Manager.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare food orders, complying with the Safe Food Handling practices
- Assist in the preparation of weekly menu specials and food ordering
- Responsible for ensuring kitchen area is kept clean in compliance with Health Canada standards
- Responsible for general cleaning duties and maintenance (dishes, counters, cleaning grill daily, etc)
- Other duties as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Culinary Arts training preferred
- Experience working in a restaurant setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem solving attitude
- Flexibility to work hours
