SVEA Pandemic Response 2022-2023 School Year (2022.09.01)

RE: Sioux Valley Education Pandemic Response 2022-2023 School Year
For the upcoming school year, Sioux Valley Education will be removing all previous COVID measures and entering into safety measures that were in place pre COVID. We will continue to follow all Public Health Fundamentals. The following is recommended by Manitoba Health for guidance related to COVID-19 in Schools.
Schools are asked to review existing contingency plans and be ready to implement changing measures as well as follow preventive measures as much as possible:
 Get vaccinated.
 Be sure to stay home when sick.
 Wash hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer frequently.
 Cover your cough or sneeze.
 Assess your risk and know if you are eligible for treatment.
 Make decisions about additional measures based on personal risk and preference.
For additional health recommendations and information, please visit the following website

Additional COVID school guidelines:
 Masks are recommended for students and staff when indoors, but are not required.
 Masks will continue to be provided to students and staff as requested
 Frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces
 Schools will maintain their current class configuration
 Students and staff should continue to self monitor and stay home when sick
 Rapid Antigens tests should be available to students and staff who are symptomatic.
We look forward to school starting next week, September 6th. Please be on the lookout for the bus in the morning!
We thank all families for their continued support of our safety measures during the past few years and into the future. The safety of our staff and students is our number one concern.
Thank you,
Sioux Valley High School Administration
