2019 High School Graduation Trip (2019.07.05)

Leaving the finance office on the morning of July 2, 2019. Sixteen new Grade 12 graduates left for their Graduation Trip to Alberta. The Graduates completed and received their High School Diploma from Sioux Valley High School, Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School as well as École secondaire Neelin High School.

The trip was spent in and around the area of Banff, AB. We spent one full day in Banff and were able to go to the summit of Sulphur Mountain on the Gondola Ride. Although there were a few in the group that were afraid of heights we all managed to make it to the top of the mountain.

We then headed over to Lake Minnewanka where we learned about the lake and its origins. We went by boat and learned the history behind the lake and its first settlers, which was the Stoney Nakoda.

Our schedule for the next day was cancelled due to the rainy weather so we took to the big city of Calgary and ventured downtown to the Calgary Tower via C-Train.

Sioux Valley Dakota Nation will like to once again congratulate the 2019 High School Graduates and wish them success in their future endeavours.
