On October 31st, 2017, Sioux Valley Dakota Nation’s staff as well as the staff and student of Sioux Valley School we’re all taking part in the Halloween spirit. Every year, students from Sioux Valley School all put on their costumes and go trick or treating throughout the community businesses and departments. SVDN’s Health, Finance, Self-Government, Employment and Training, Social Development, Dakota Diner & SVDN’s Petro-Can, Dakota Oyate Lodge and DOCFS all greeted trick or treater with smiles and treats. Every year, the community enjoys seeing the smiling faces of our youth as well as the creativity of their costumes. SVDN Council member Wilson Kennedy was even spotted taking a youth trick or treating with the rest of the students. Another SVDN Council member who took part in the Halloween activates was Elton Taylor, dressed as half Clark Kent, half Superman, was present at the school to help judge the student costumes and to DJ the afternoon school Halloween dance. With Halloween 2017 completed, we look forward to next year.
