Notice is hereby given by this “Elders Meeting Results” for the following:
“Sioux Valley Dakota Oyate Election Appeal Board”
The results of the August 19th, 2025 Elders Meeting are as follows:
- Started with lunch for everyone and while lunch was being eaten the process officers handed out the terms of the appeals board for them to review while eating and visiting
- After lunch we had reviewed the terms and had an open discussion followed by sharing/reading the letters of interest submitted by Misty-Rose Wasteste and Tennyson Pratt
- Elders agreed via a vote/show of hands to have them accepted as the first two members of the Appeals Board
- The option was then given for all Elders in attendance to stand up and speak if they’d like to join the board for the remaining 3 seats – no response
- The Elders then voted by secret/write in ballot and the following front runners for the remaining 3 spots were chosen:
- Sam Hapa (accepted)
- Harold Blacksmith (declined)
- Oswald McKay (declined)
- Which then opened our next selections:
- Joyce Wasicuna (declined)
- Wayne Wasicuna (accepted)
- Evelyn Pratt (accepted)
- Which leaves our Appeals Board as follows:
- Misty-Rose Wasteste
- Tennyson Pratt
- Sam Hapa
- Wayne Wasicuna
- Evelyn Pratt
