Sioux Valley Dakota Nation asserts its inherent sovereignty, Dakota natural laws, and long-standing governance structures as affirmed in our Constitution and upheld by the authority of the Tióspayé Representative Council (TRC). These governing documents clearly outline the roles, responsibilities, and lawful processes that guide our Nation, including election administration, oversight, and appeals.
An election was duly held on November 15, 2025, in full accordance with Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Election Law. The Electoral Officer, our independent authority appointed under that law, administered the election and completed the ballot count. The Election Oversight Body has formally acknowledged and affirmed these results. This affirmation constitutes the official and lawful confirmation of the mandate given by the Oyate.
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation maintains an established Election Appeals Process, created and approved by our community to ensure fairness, accountability, and transparency. Any individual contesting the election results must follow this process. The Election Appeals Committee is responsible for receiving and reviewing appeals, examining all evidence, and making determinations as required under Election Law.
Unless and until an appeal overturns a result, the affirmed election results remain valid, lawful, and fully in effect.
