The SVDN Governance office in conjunction with the Election Law Review Committee and Citizenship Committee are preparing for a vote on the following:
1. A proposed “Sioux Valley Dakota Oyate Citizenship Law” and
2. Amendments to the current “Sioux Valley Dakota Oyate Election Law #2015.27.11-01”.
A vote is scheduled for April 29, 2021. Off-reserve residents will have an opportunity to vote via “mail-in ballot”. The SVDN Governance Office will send you the proposed “Sioux Valley Dakota Oyate Citizenship Law’ and proposed amendments to the current “Sioux Valley Dakota Oyate Election Law #2015.11.27-01” and information on how to complete your ballot and return it to the SVDN Process Officers prior to April 15, 2021.
If you would like to receive an information package, please confirm the following:
1. Legal name;
2. Date of Birth (must be 18 years of age or older as of April 15, 2021);
3. Mailing Address;
4. Phone Number; and
5. Band Number.
