On June 22, 2020 Sioux Valley Dakota Nation and the R.M of Sifton signed a landmark Fire Service Agreement.
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation and the R.M. of Sifton are long standing neighbouring jurisdictions and have come together to develop this Fire Service Agreement to provide and share emergency services to assist when the other is in need.
In the spirit of reconciliation this agreement affirms that emergency services through the use of fire equipment and personnel response will provide immediate aid and support.
More importantly, through the symbolism of this agreement the two neighbouring governing bodies are coming together to assert unity and mutual respect and ultimately the health and safety of all citizens.
