Community Notice: Water Treatment Plant Online (2024.06.17)
Residents of Sioux Valley,
Power has been restored to our Water Treatment Plant and the reservoirs have returned to stable operating conditions. We ask the community to to continue to conserve water where possible, but normal usage can continue.
We would also like to remind the community that the precautionary “Boil Water” advisory is still in effect for a 48 hour duration.
Boil Water Advisory below:
Please be advised that a boil water advisory is currently in effect for the community. This advisory is issued due to a potential issue with our water system that could compromise its safety for consumption.
Action Required:
• Boil Water: All water for consumption purposes (drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth) should be boiled vigorously for at least one minute prior to use. This includes water used for drinking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, and brushing teeth.
• Alternative Water Sources: Use bottled water or water from a different safe source if boiling is not possible.
Precautions:
• Discard Ice: Dispose of any ice cubes that were made with water before the boil advisory was issued.
• Disinfect Dishes: If using a dishwasher, ensure it reaches a sufficient temperature for sanitization. Otherwise, wash dishes with boiled water or use disposable tableware.
• Care with Hygiene: Use boiled or bottled water for washing hands, especially before handling food.
Duration of Advisory:
We are actively working to resolve the issue and will notify you promptly when the water is safe for consumption again. Typically, advisories last for a minimum of 48 hours to ensure water quality tests confirm safety.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this boil water advisory. Your health and safety are our utmost priority.
Thank You
