Every year there will be an annual file review process. All social clients must re-apply for
the new fiscal year. This requires you to bring new copies of IDs for you and your
children, and or spouse, 60 days of financial statements, Feb & March banking
statements. We are advising you to use your bank accounts, as we are still moving
forward with Direct deposit.
There will be a new process when applying for income assistance.
There will be a work plan or a school plan for those who are still employable (18-45).
Every month we are going to have you fill out a general application and we will be
submitting those applications to the Human Resource Department. As part of the new
process, you will be required to do this monthly. Employable clients must come fill out
the general application anytime between the 15 th and the 25 th of every month. If you do
not fill out the general application your payment will be put on hold.
The new disability process is still being implemented at the ISC level. The forms must be
assessed at ISC and authorized by an adjudicator. This process will give the disability
clients a bit of an increase in their monthly benefits. Right now, there is still no disability
payments being issued. All those who were on disability, need to have the new disability
forms filled out by your Dr.
The diets haven’t changed, you are still required to update your diet forms yearly. We
encourage you to use the dietician at the health center.
Social Dev. will start taking applications for the WOP program and hopefully we can get
work for the employable category. Please come by the social office if you want to sign up
or want more information.
Just a reminder that Social Assistance is supposed to be your last resort for income.
