Community Awareness: Dangerous Needle Found in Sioux Valley
The Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Health Centre is issuing this public safety notice to inform community members that a used needle was recently found within the community. The needle was safely collected and tested, and results confirmed the presence of multiple harmful substances, including:
Amphetamines
Cocaine
Fentanyl
MDMA (Ecstasy)
Methamphetamine
Oxycodone
PCP (Phencyclidine)
This discovery is deeply concerning and highlights the urgent need for continued caution and community awareness. These substances pose serious health and safety risks, even in small amounts or through accidental contact.

Community Safety Reminders
Do not touch or handle needles or other drug paraphernalia.
If you find one, please contact the Sioux Valley Health Centre or Sioux Valley Dakota Nation First Nation Safety Officers immediately for safe disposal.
Educate children and youth about the dangers of unknown items.
Be cautious in shared spaces such as parks, walkways, or near housing units.

If Exposure Occurs
If you or someone you know comes into contact with a needle:
1. Do not panic.
2. Wash the affected area immediately with soap and water.
3. Contact the Sioux Valley Health Centre or seek emergency medical attention as soon as possible.
