Traditional Tobacco Workshop
Special Guest Jason Leshchyshyn
Jason Leshchyshyn is a Commercial Tobacco Reduction Facilitator from the Southeast Resource Development Council in Winnipeg. He helps indigenous communities as a tradtional tobacco resource and is working at replacing commercial tobacco in ceremonies. He is working with Jennifer McIvor, to design and develop a Traditional Tobacco Garden in the community, so that organic tobacco will be available for free, for ceremonial purposes. After presentations, the group will go to the Sioux Valley Gardens to transplant tobacco seedlings into the Sioux Valley Gardens.
