Adriana is a proud member of Sioux Valley Dakota Nation and has grown up in the small community of Sprucewoods with her brother Carsen, and parents Aimee-Jo Whitecloud-Holland and Dallas Holland. Adriana is 13 years of age and showed an interest in running at an early age through her love for soccer. Her speed on the field has become more apparent over the years. Adriana currently trains with the Brandon United Football Cooperative girls soccer team year-round and is a member of the Westman FC U13/U14 PR2 competitive soccer team. Adriana also had the opportunity to attend this years’ Manitoba Winter Games with the U14 girls Futsal team. Being so heavily involved with soccer has kept Adriana very busy however this has worked in her favour. Her endurance and speed have improved by leaps and bounds. Over the past two years Adriana has competed in the BSD cross country run, placing 2nd respectively in both competitions, on a field of numerous competitors. In June, Adriana competed in the BSD track and field 1200m race, finishing with an impressive win for 1st place. This win gave her the courage to enter this years’ Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games for Athletics, representing Sioux Valley Dakota Nation. Adriana competed in the U14G 1200m race and was the first female to cross the finish line, earning her the gold medal. She also competed in the U14G High Jump, finishing at a height of 1.50m, earning her another gold medal. We look forward to seeing what the future will bring for Adriana and are very proud of her accomplishments.
