“The Sioux Valley Dakota Nation extends our sincere condolences in the passing of The Honourable Murray Sinclair. Senator Sinclair was a trailblazer for our Nations dedicating his life’s work to the pursuit of justice and recognition of Indigenous rights. He helped to advance critical issues and shed light on the dark and painful history of residential schools. Through his leadership with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, he opened new conversations on reconciliation and most importantly healing of our Nations.
