Sioux Valley Elementary School’s note to parents Sept. 3, 2024:
We enjoyed an excellent first day of school here at SVES, with almost all of our students arriving at school ready to learn. We would like to remind all parents that attendance at school is extremely important to their academic success and their future lives, so please make sure your child gets on that bus each and every morning! Here are a few important message to note this week:
* If you have not yet registered your child for school, please drop by the school tomorrow and speak with Dianne Taylor. Please be reminded that the bus cannot pick up your child in the morning if they are not registered for school. Please also be reminded that it is not acceptable to drop off unregistered children at school. It takes only a few minutes with Ms. Taylor to complete the registration process.
* We will start our breakfast and hot lunch program next week, so we are asking you to make sure your kids get breakfast in the morning and that you pack them a lunch this week. We will post the September menu as soon as it’s available. As usual, students will be charged $1 for a hot lunch and it’s best to send a loonie with your child in the morning as no lunch orders will be taken after 10:30 a.m.
* We have fresh water jugs in all of the classrooms to ensure kids are hydrated throughout the day. This year we are asking kids to bring their own water bottle to school as we will no longer be using paper cups.
* Because we have more kids in our school than last year, it looks like we will be running an additional bus this year. Please be patient with us as drivers become accustomed to their new routes. We will definitely get your child back safely to you; it just may take a few minutes longer than usual for a while.
Thanks!
