Measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
It can also stay in the air for up to 2 hours after a person leaves a room.
SYMPTOMS
Measles usually starts with:
Fever
Cough
Runny nose
Red / watery eyes
A rash usually appears 3–5 days later, starting on the face and spreading downward.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF & OTHERS
✅ Get vaccinated (MMR vaccine)
✅ Check your immunization record
✅ Stay home if you are sick
✅ Call ahead before visiting the Health Centre or clinic
IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE MEASLES
Do not go into the Health Centre or clinic without calling first.
Calling ahead helps protect Elders, children, and others at risk.
WHO IS MOST AT RISK
Babies under 1 year
Pregnant people
People with weak immune systems
Anyone not fully immunized
