1. Social Development is requesting July, Aug, and Sept. banking statements from all social clients. Please have these statements submitted to the social office by Oct. 17th. If you do not hand in your statements, your next issue will be on hold. You can either bring them in person, by fax 204-855-2679, or by email lyla.tacan@svdn.ca or april.taylor@svdn.ca
2. School clothing allowance for those who registered their child(ren) before Sept 15th is available for pick up at social office. There is a form you must sign before it is released. Everyone must pick up their own cheques, social does not release to anybody else.
3. Monthly issue days are schedule for the 1st of the month, unless the 1st lands on a weekend then it will be on a Friday. Social will have a cheque day every 6 months to catch up on any forms that may need your signature. Social will notify you when there will be cheque days.
4. Hydro is paid on a portion basis. When there is working people living in your home they are required to pay a portion on their behalf. Social only pays for those who are on Social Assistance. Vice versa for those who have social clients that are living in the home, social will pay a portion of your hydro.
5. Social Development will have training workshops for those who are interested, there will be a signup sheet for various workshop and training opportunities. There will be a “Will and Estate” workshop happening on Oct 27 or 28 pending availability. Sign up with social or band membership office. Lunch and door prizes for those in attendance.
