Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Governance is proposing alternative methods of communications and activities to avoid large crowds and encourage social distancing.
As of June 21 , the Manitoba Government implemented Phase 3 of restoring safe
services. Public gatherings have increased to 100 people provided that *physical distancing measures (6 feet apart) are in effect during these events.
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Government has four committees that are seeking community feedback on various matters related to their scope of committee work.
These committees are:
- SVDN Election Law Review Committee;
- SVDN Citizenship Committee;
- SVDN Lands Advisory Committee; and
- Dakota Tiwahe Services Board of Directors.
Sioux Valley Governance is proposing to the community a vote on the following laws;
December 2020
- SVDN Citizenship Law
- SVDN Child and Family Services Law
March 2021
- SVDN Election Law (revised)
- SVDN Dakota Language Law
The Drive-Thru information session will provide an opportunity for SVDN citizens to participate in the surveys and have a discussion with a committee or staff members.
Due to Covid-19 and the public health risks, children under 15 will be not be allowed to attend and rides will be not be provided to citizens to attend the event.
Babysitting dollars can be provided at $20 per household for those that require babysitting assistance.
