SVDN is pleased to announce we are partnering with the Brandon Wheat Kings to recognize Truth and Reconciliation. On Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 we will kick off the “Orange Jersey Project”.
Orange Jersey Project – an initiative created by the Orange Shirt Society aims at using the power of sport to serve as a vehicle toward educating today’s young athletes about the history of the Indian Residential School system and strengthening the path towards truth and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. Over 750 minor hockey teams across Canada will be wearing orange jerseys during their practices. It’s huge for these young athletes who look up to our players, and be able to see WHL athletes don these jerseys as well.
