Youth Spotlight - Sophia Bear (2024.02.23)
Sophia Bear (6), is a proud Dakota / Cree from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation and Peguis First Nation. She is a competitive hockey player for the U7 Shooting Stars team in Winnipeg. Sophia recently received the game star award during the All Central Female Hockey Day at the Winnipeg Iceplex. Sophia has advanced her skills this past season and is prepared for U9 in the fall! Hockey is only one of her many talents as she also competes in taekwondo and recently advanced to a yellow stripe belt. Last, but not least Sophia loves to travel, go to pow-wows and dance fancy shawl.
