August 23, 2019 was the last day for the 2019 Summer Students. This year Sioux Valley Dakota Nation was able to hire 23 students. All students were either new graduates, continuing students or post-secondary students.
Sioux Valley Education and Training partnered with other departments this year to be able to hire the number of students we had this year
In addition to work place experience the students also received their First Aide Certificates as well as participating in the life skills workshop.
The summer student luncheon was held at the Wichozoni Center and the students were given awards for participating in the 2019 Summer Student Program
Speeches were done by Nick Pompana, Student and two program managers which were Margaret Roscelli, Health Direct, Carol Johnson, Self-Government Manager and Councillor Eveyln Pratt.
We would like to wish our students success and look forward to hosting students for the 2020 Summer Student Program.
