On Friday, August 14th, 2020, Chief Jennifer Bone and Council presented the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation flag to the City of Brandon.
Dakota Nation Unity Riders and Dakota Hotain as well as numerous community members were honoured to bring the flag to City Hall.
The opening prayer was given by Mr. Harold Blacksmith. Guest speakers included Mayor Rick Chrest, NDP MLA Wab Kinew and BUAPC Leah LaPlante.
Through acknowledgement of our unceded territory, we will continue to develop our partnership with the City of Brandon and the Brandon Urban Aboriginal People’s Council for all citizens and community members.
