The Canadian Archaeological Association held their 51st annual meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba between May 2-6, 2018. Sioux Valley Dakota Nation was invited to assist in a presentation with Katherine Nichols. Katherine Nichols has worked with SVDN in the past and continues to work with SVDN in regard to the old Brandon Residential School site, which SVDN currently owns and has tentative plans to build a Healing Centre on the site. Toni Pashe, Treatment Centre coordinator was scheduled to co-present but was unable to attend, Koda Tacan, a member of the SVDN Self-Governance team, was on hand to present on behalf of SVDN.
